Budd’s Show and Shine

Oh and here is a nice goofy pic of me winning best of show this last weekend at Budd’s Subaru show & shine where proceeds were going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Assoication. The only reason I had a chance of winning is that Arthur wasn’t there with his Trial widebody GC 🙂

Great turnout.. there had to be 150 cars there, good times and great people.

Hello Deadbolt ZILLA TD06-20G

The DHL delivery lady is my best friend today. Talk about service! Jerry at Deadbolt was having some problems with UPS so he arranged a next day delivery via DHL to make sure my turbo was here in time for my build on Tuesday of next week.

Thanks a MILLION Jerry for going over and above expectations to make a customer happy!

Now for the photos… I’m digging the porting and black extreme coating on this bad boy. I took some pictures with a flash and others without so you can see the porting work. Since it is all black coated it is a bit hard to see without the flash.

Shop Time Scheduled

Woo hoo.. starting to become a reality. The car is scheduled to go under the knife at Fourstar Motorsports on Aug 5th. Should have the car back in a couple of days after. Frank will be performing the surgery 🙂

Timing should allow for the 20G and Fuel rails to arrive by then… starting to get excited

Also the car will be heading to Budd’s Subaru in Oakville on Friday for its alignment, camber bolt and front O2 sensor fix…

Deadbolt ZILLA TD06H-20G Ordered!!!

So Friday I finalized my order with Jerry at Deadbolt Enterprises http://www.boostplanet.com on my new ZILLA TD06H-20G. I decided to go this way instead of sending my Deadbolt 16G back to be massaged into this turbo. Downtime, shipping and scheduling of the build was just going to get in the way.

So I’ll end up selling my 16G and Sti Pinks as a package once the new stuff is on.

After talking to a bunch of turbo places everyone said that the TD06-20G will be the best turbo for my setup if I am planning on running pump gas. All the other turbos that I was looking at really bring extra gain when running meth or race gas. Everyone said it isn’t worth the extra cost if I wouldn’t be running these. So I am quite happy with my decision.

Turbo should be shipped out 2nd day air next week. Here is what you get with Deadbolt’s Water/Oil cooled ZILLA TD06H-20G:
– Black Xtreme(TM) coating-turbine housing
– Grey Ceramic coating-compressor housing
– Monster Port(TM)
– Metal coolant supply lines
– Coolant supply banjo bolts
– Coolant supply banjo seals
– Oil return line with new gasket and bolts
– Stainless steel downpipe studs

And.. FREE REBUILDS FOR LIFE

Stay tuned… as soon as this guy arrives there will be lots of pictures… So far the plan is that the car will undergo its build in 2 weeks.. pending shop availablily

Plus… as a sneak peak.. there are current plans for JUN style hood modifications… both the vent at the front and the raised vent at the rear Just working through the plans for this now.

TGV Deletes

And here are the TGV Deletes. I’m loving these guys. Such nice porting work and I really can’t get over how outstanding a finish the thermal coating creates. Everything was really well packed to ensure that there was going to be no damage on the parts during shipping.

Side shot to see that thermal coating..

Now check out the porting:

Hello Grimmspeed!!

WOW… the package from Justin and Rich from Grimmspeed just arrived in the mail. Now these are some quality pieces! The quality of the porting work and the finish of the thermal coating is second to none..

Pictures are worth a 1000 words but these will leave you speechless. I took some with the flash and others without so you can see the details of the porting and the look of the finish.

All the needed hardware for installation was also provided.

Group Shot:

And the 8mm Phenolic spacers with extended bolts.

JRP Show

The TMBLER was out at the JRP T.A.S.R. show today (Tuners Against Street Racing).

Vince from VK Innovation & Development was nice enough to drop by yesterday with some of their Carbon Fiber items to put on the car for the show. I still have to upload the pictures from the show of the solenoid cover and alternator cover but here is a pictue of the JUN style Carbon Fiber eyelids.

Here are a couple of Vince’s photos of the alternator and solenoid cover:

KS Technology MegaMAF

SHAZAM! Matt from KS Technology just hooked me up with their Short Ram 73mm MegaMAF Big MAF. DAMN, this thing is nice. They have also just released a series of Cold Air MegaMAF Intakes as well that will work with various different models of FMIC’s. Click Me for CAI

All these are in both 73mm and 83mm. It can come with either a K&N cone filter or an AEM DryFlow. I opted for the DryFlow for my setup to reduce the chance of oil messing up the MAF.

Here are some pictures so you can really see the quality of this piece. What a great alternative to the Perrin Big MAF. Look at those nice welds Even had the foresight to mark air flow direction.
